In 1991, with the introduction of the Ballistik, Sovereign Archery was founded. The desire for a smoother pulling, better performing bow, inspired the design. The Ballistik’s high energy storage retro flexed limbs, and three piece design would prove to revolutionize forever the way traditional bows would shoot.
We expanded our line of bows in 1995 with the development of the Trident. A 50’s style, one piece recurve with the legendary performance of our takedown recurves.
Now in 1998 we have expanded our product line again with the Sonoran. Our longbow with the uncompromising quality, beauty and performance that is synonymous with Sovereign Archery.
All of our bows are designed and built one at a time by our bowyer, John Fazio.Truly a custom bowyer; he has been building bows full time since 1991. John has been Sovereign Archery’s only bowyer. John’s designs stem from years of knowledge and field-testing. He has been shooting bows since 1974.He has worked in and managed archery shops in New England, Texas and New Mexico. John is an avid hunter and fisherman, and harvests all the meat for the Fazio family. He has hunted only with traditional archery equipment since 1984.John is involved in scouting. He teaches traditional archery to scouts each summer, helping to support archery’s future. In addition, he also teaches them woodsmanship, outdoor ethics, and conservation. When John is not bowhunting, you can probably find him and our son, Nicholas, following his pack of hounds; chasing lions, bobcats, coon and bear.
